Mr. Michael E. Shaw is the Director of the Office of Urban Male Health for the County of Alameda. His primary focus is to redress inequities in health care services for historically under-served males. He established the Alameda County Urban Male Health Initiative in 2005 with the goal of impacting and transforming systems to address the social determinants of health from an urban male lens thru policy and administrative protocol changes. Mr. Shaw has developed multiple health service models that target communities of color, at-risk juveniles and justice involved youth and adults.
