Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers across this land!
This is our special day and I intend to enjoy it with my children and grandchildren. I know many of you will be doing the same as we count our many blessings. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 16 years ago my first thoughts went towards my family and how long I would be with them. However, my prostate cancer journey has been one of continually increasing my knowledge about a disease that took the life of my father, and this has served me well.
On this Father’s Day I want to extend a sincere thank you to all the churches that have partnered with PHEN for our “8th Annual Father’s Day Rally” and “4th Annual Educational Symposium series.” My thanks also go out to all of the doctors, prostate cancer survivors and many others who are participating in these initiatives. Together we are providing prostate health education and awareness to thousands within communities all across the country. These efforts provide knowledge that will allow other men to enjoy Father’s Day with their families. Many will look back on their prostate cancer journeys, as I do, and thank God for the knowledge that carries them safely along this journey. Your support is making a difference in the lives of these men.
