In 2010 Ken Hudson brought the Father's Day Rally to Cascade United Methodist Church
where Rev. Dr. Marvin Moss is the Senior Pastor, and Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery is Pastor Emeritus. Cascade will honor Kenneth Hudson as a part of its 2012 Father's Day Rally. Ken Hudson who deceased in May 2012, was a member of Cascade and the PHEN Survivor Network.
In 1968, Mr. Hudson became a pioneering black referee with the National Basketball Association (NBA). Four years later he founded the popular Boston Shootout, which featured the best high school basketball players in the country. The Basketball Hall of Fame gave Mr. Hudson the Mannie Jackson Human Spirit Award in 2009.
During his career, Ken also was vice president of marketing development and director of community releationsfor Coca-Cola, vice president of community affairs for the Boston Celtics, and executive president of International Consulting Group.
Ken Hudson was an active member of the PHEN Survivor Network and spent considerable time outreaching and helping other men facing prostate cancer. Ken, who participated in experimental treatments, asked that his body be donated to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's Georgia Campus.
