Mark Leuchtenberger, president of Cambridge, Massachusetts based Therion Biologics, made a presentation at PHEN's Boston support group meeting on May 11th. Therion is close to making history by getting federal marketing approval for a therapeutic vaccine for cancer.....

RALLY AGAINST PROSTATE CANCER LAUNCHED IN BOSTON
On Saturday, September 8th, PHEN launched its national "Rally Against Prostate Cancer" in Boston. The National African American RV Association (NAARVA) is partnering with PHEN across the country for the rally. In Boston the Mattapan Community Health Center's (MCHC) "11th Annual Health Care Revival" was the main venue for the rally..

THE MASS PROSTATE CANCER COALITION's EIGHT ANNUAL PROSTATE CANCER SYMPOSIUM
PHEN survivor group members to participate in leading roles.....luncheon speaker, Rev. Arthur T. Gerald, Jr. (Twelfth Baptist Church), will address the importance of outlook and attitude for prostate cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones. Thomas A. Farrington will lead the workshop on "Improving The African American Prostate Predicament". Robbie Robinson and William Netter will participate in workshops. The Symposium will be held Thursday, May 19th, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Marriott Copley Hotel in Boston. The symposium will also feature a wide range of workshops devoted to cryosurgery, treatment decisions, restoring intimacy, innovative techniques, watchful waiting, and other topics. This symposium is FREE, you are invited and encouraged to attend. It will feature participants and topics that will address the needs and concerns of Black men and their families.
